Our Company

Tunwall Radio LLC manufactures control systems for various switch, antenna and transmitter configurations. Our products are now being used by stations in over 125 markets. For a complete list, click here. Tunwall Radio also offers a line of network analyzer measurement accessories for AM broadcast systems.

Steve Tunwall designs and builds our products. He started Tunwall Radio in 2004, after several years of control system design and construction. His broadcast engineering background includes corporate group engineering positions and major market Director of Engineering positions.

Leslie Tunwall is the Business Manager. She also oversees marketing and www.tunwallradio.com. Her background includes several years in radio news as a reporter and News Director.

Our History

Carl Tunwall, Sr. in KFJY studio

Steve Tunwall's grandfather, Carl Tunwall, Sr., (pictured, above) owned and operated radio station KFJY in Fort Dodge, Iowa in the 1920s and 1930s. Along with the station, his Tunwall Radio Co. also owned a radio store and repair shop. The company unfortunately was one of many casualties of the Depression. Other than using the name, we have no connection to the original company. We do however, use the logo and photos of the Tunwall Radio service car (pictured below) in our company literature and on our web site today.
